Since 2004 Simon Beck has been strapping on a pair of snow shoes and completing these large-scale works of art throughout the Les Arcs ski resort in Savoie, France, where he lives during the ski season.
To accomplish each pattern, Beck uses a handheld orienteering compass and distance determination using pace counting or measuring tape. On average it takes him 10 hours to complete each piece, step by step.
