Every year on the day of the full moon of the Phalguna month (usually March or February), India celebrates the festival of colors, or more popularly known as the HOLI Festival. It’s an ancient Hindu religious festival that marks the victory of good over evil, the end of winter and the arrival of spring, and the equality of all Indian castes.
This year for the first time ever, the popular paint-throwing festival is coming to Melbourne. Yes, Melburnians will be able to express their happiness and repair broken relationships by throwing paint at each other (which is the complete opposite on any normal day, right?) The HOLI Festival will take place at Sidney Myer Music Bowl on 28 November.
